Die Amtrak-Station ist gerade mal 2 Minuten entfernt. Die freundliche Lady am Schalter nimmt mein Gep\u00e4ck entgegen – die zwei gro\u00dfen Taschen hinten und das Rack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jetzt habe ich rund vier Stunden Zeit bis der Zug ankommt. Mit den beiden am Rad verbliebenen Taschen vorne (nehme ich sp\u00e4ter mit in den Zug) rolle ich noch ein wenig durch El Paso – es ist ein sonniger Fr\u00fchlingstag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trinke in Ruhe einen Kaffee an der Plaza und bin gespannt auf das Zugerlebnis mit der Amtrak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Fahrt dauert rund 12 Stunden – gegen 5 Uhr morgens (CST -6 zu Deutschland) sollte ich in San Antonio ankommen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Bahnhof treffe ich Regan aus Columbia, South Carolina, er ist mit seinem schnellen Canyon den Original Southern Tier von San Diego hierher gefahren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit rund 45 Minuten Versp\u00e4tung starten wir in Richtung San Antonio, TX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regan l\u00e4dt mich zum Dinner in den Speisewagen ein – herzlichen Dank, habe ich gerne angenommen. Ich w\u00fcnsche Dir eine gute Heimreise, viel Erfolg im neuen Job und \u201ekeep on cycling\u201c. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
