Aber der Reihe nach, schon beim Verlassen des Hotels pfiff der Wind durch die Gassen von Douglas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein paar Blocks entfernt fr\u00fchst\u00fccke ich in einem chicen Caf\u00e9 – es gab sogar super leckeren Capuccino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An der Tankstelle Verpflegung eingekauft und los ging es, auf die rund 80 km, die vor mir lagen bis nach Rodeo – einem sehr kleinen Ort – in the middle of nowhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welch ein Gl\u00fcck f\u00fcr mich, der Wind der sp\u00e4ter zum Sturm eskalierte, kam oft von der Seite schiebend und meistens aber als absoluter \u201etailwind\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So brauchte ich gerade mal vier Stunden – incl. 400 H\u00f6henmetern bis zum Ziel in Rodeo. Es war einfach herrlich – eine wenig befahrene Stra\u00dfe mit sehr gutem Belag und tolle Landschaften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unterwegs habe ich 1000 km gefahrene Kilometer \u00fcberschritten, mit New Mexico meinen dritten Staat erreicht, bin ungef\u00e4hr 5 km in einem \u201eSandsturm\u201c gefahren und habe mein erstes Javelina gesehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etwa 10 km vor der \u201estateline\u201c kam ich durch den Ort Apache (max. drei H\u00e4user) und kurz dahinter zum Geronimo-Surrender-Monument (Details bei Wikipedia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leider tobte der Sturm derart, dass ich nur kurze Zeit dort verbracht habe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenig sp\u00e4ter war ich an der Mountain-Valley-Lodge angekommen – via AirBnb hatte ich mich gestern im \u201eCowboy-Room\u201c eingebucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
