Sonnenuntergang war um 18:30 Uhr, hier wird es sehr schnell dunkel. Also 19:00 im Zelt – Sonnenaufgang 7:15 Uhr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eine sehr lange Nacht – konnte mich anfangs gar nicht sattsehen an dem Sternenhimmel. Lediglich vor 30 Jahren beim Aufstieg auf den Kilimandscharo habe ich einen solchen Himmel gesehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durch die N\u00e4he zur Interstate, der Eisenbahnlinie und der Tankstelle war es eine laute Nacht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich habe erstmals auf meinem Helinox Lite Cot (Geschenk von Matt & Liesa) eine ganze Nacht verbracht – man liegt wirklich sehr gut und bequem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geschlafen habe ich aus den genannten Gr\u00fcnden mit vielen Unterbrechungen nur bedingt gut. Die Temperatur war ok. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besch\u00e4ftigt haben mich sehr intensiv, die 120 km von Tacna alternativlos nach Gila Bend, zum allergr\u00f6\u00dften Teil auf der Interstate 8 mit kaum Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eine Horrorvision die mich wirklich gequ\u00e4lt hat. Ich \u00fcberlegte mir einen Plan: Die Tankstelle \u00f6ffnet um 7:00 Uhr, bis dahin Zelt abgebaut und alles eingepackt, Kaffee und Donut an der Tankstelle und bis maximal 9:00 Uhr spreche ich Autofahrer die nach Osten fahren auf einen Shuttle an, sehr viele Autos k\u00f6nnen ein Rad + Gep\u00e4ck locker aufnehmen. Falls es nicht klappt – mache ich mich um 9:00 Uhr auf den Weg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gesagt getan, die ersten beiden Ansprachen wurden interessiert entgegengenommen, scheiterten jeweils an der Fahrtrichtung. Mein Ziel ist: Eastbound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die n\u00e4chste Ansprache war Mayra – ein junge Mutter mit drei Kindern in einem sehr gro\u00dfen Auto, auf dem Weg nach Osten zu einem Fu\u00dfballturnier ihres Sohnes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kurz hat sie gez\u00f6gert, hat ihre Tankrechnung bezahlt und dann den Kofferraum ge\u00f6ffnet – come on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruck zuck war der Blaue Elephant mit allem Gep\u00e4ck verladen und los ging es nach Gila Bend – der Morgensonne entgegen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was mich 1 1\/2 Tage stressiges Geradeausfahren auf der \u201eAutobahn\u201c gekostet h\u00e4tte – war nach nicht mal 1 1\/2 Stunden bequem erledigt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vielen Dank Mayra f\u00fcr deine gro\u00dfartige Hilfsbereitschaft, wir haben uns sehr intensiv ausgetauscht und voneinander gelernt. Du warst mein \u201eEngel des Tages\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoffentlich konnte Henry ein gutes Turnier spielen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Gila Bend also 120 km weiter \u00f6stlich, musste ich mich erstmal neu sortieren. In einem netten, kleinen Park habe ich meine Espressokanne ausgepackt und eine Kleinigkeit gegessen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neues Tagesziel Maricopa – auf der ST 238 – 35 km m\u00e4\u00dfig bergauf und 35 km m\u00e4\u00dfig bergab, ein wenig Headwind, immer an der Bahn lang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Landschaft ist schon beeindruckend – diese typischen Berge Arizonas, wie man sie aus den Western kennt. Zum ersten Mal sind auch die gro\u00dfen Kakteen \u2014> Saguaro aufgetaucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die meiste Zeit ging gut zu fahren – die letzten 10 Meilen gab es nur eine minimale Schulter und heftigen Verkehr – volle Konzentration war erforderlich – hat gut geklappt – kurz nach 16:00 war ich im Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
