Gut ausgeschlafen bin ich fr\u00fch unterwegs – herrlich sonnig, wie alle Tage, aber ziemlich frisch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr\u00fchst\u00fccke in der Kantine des Gesundheitsamtes – war in Google eine Empfehlung – exzellenter Breakfast-Burrito und Smoothie – guter Tipp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es geht locker geradeaus nach Osten – statte mich mit ausreichend Wasser aus, da auf den rund 100 km nichts kommt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anfangs geht es durch die riesigen Gem\u00fcsefelder – ein Schwerpunkt sind Karotten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sp\u00e4ter wird es sandig mit niedrigem Bewuchs – ohne Baum und gr\u00f6\u00dferen Strauch. Der Highway neben der Interstate hat hervorragenden Asphalt und kaum Verkehr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als die D\u00fcnenlandschaft in Sicht kommt \u00e4ndert sich das Bild, der Hway verschwindet quasi und Komoot routet mich in die Pampa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Direkt am Zaun in tiefem Sand hole ich mir Rat bei den Jungs der Border -Patrol. Die sind sehr bestimmt aber nicht unfreundlich und schicken mich auf die Interstate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Randstreifen ist breit und gut zu fahren – allerdings hochkonzentriert auf den m\u00e4chtigen Luftzug den die riesigen Trucks hinter sich herziehen, das rei\u00dft schon mal am Lenker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Auge hatte ich nach rund 70 km den Buttercup Campground – das ist leider nur ein sehr gro\u00dfer Parkplatz f\u00fcr RV\u2018s und Motorsportenthusiasten, die mit ihren ATV\u2018s in den riesigen D\u00fcnen herumbrettern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da bleibe ich nicht – telefoniere zwei RV-Pl\u00e4tze in Yuma ab – keiner hat tent-camping im Angebot. Ziemlich frustiert buche ich wieder ein AirBnB in Yuma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es sind nochmal gute 30km mehr oder weniger auf der Interstate – in einer Chevron-Tankstelle – der ersten seit El Centro – rettet mich ein eiskaltes Cola. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich fahre \u00fcber die Stateline nach Arizona, damit bin ich in einer neuen Zeitzone angekommen, die Uhr springt eine Stunde vor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
