Ging dann gleich mal kr\u00e4ftig hoch und das wurde belohnt mit einer sch\u00f6nen Abfahrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Tecate Divide auf knapp 1300 Meter war auch Signal – die Berge Kaliforniens sind durch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kurze Zeit sp\u00e4ter der erste Blick nach M\u00e9xico. Schon ziemlich heftig, wenn der Grenzzaun auftaucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hinter Jacumba musste ich mich nochmal qu\u00e4len – zumal ein ziemlich heftiger \u201eHeadwind\u201c mir einiges abverlangte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diese Monstertage liegen jetzt hinter mir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final oben angekommen ging es in rasender Fahrt 800 H\u00f6henmeter abw\u00e4rts – auf der Autobahn in karger Gebirgslandschaft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Standstreifen ist megabreit – mehr als doppelt wie ein Fahrradweg bei uns – der Verkehr mittel – aber fast alle Trucks sind beim Vorbeifahren auf die linke Spur gewechselt – sehr fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unten wurde es ziemlich warm und ich bin nach Ocotillo reingefahren – ein ziemlich armseliger W\u00fcstenort mit rd. 300 Einwohnern. Sch\u00f6ne Bergkulisse rundherum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eine kleine Bar gibt es – gut f\u00fcr eine Pizza und Bier<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aus den Bergen heraus bin ich in der W\u00fcste angekommen – das erfordert in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen weniger Power beim Fahren – da flach, aber volle Konzentration auf gen\u00fcgend Fl\u00fcssigkeit und Nahrung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
