Ich habe mich in dem AirBnB im Stadteil Pacific Beach sehr wohlgef\u00fchlt – gut ausgeschlafen verlasse ich kurz nach 7 Uhr das Haus.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Zwei km radeln und ich bin an der K\u00fcste – um diese Uhrzeit sind hunderte von Leuten unterwegs – joggen, surfen und spazieren gehen steht hoch im Kurs in San Diego.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

G\u00f6nne mir ein opulentes Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck im Caf\u00e9 Kono – die \u201eLine\u201c bei der Bestellung ist ziemlich lang – aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt. Mit Blick auf den tosenden Pazifik zu fr\u00fchst\u00fccken ist schon fantastisch.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Eine halbe Stunde radle ich an der K\u00fcste entlang zum \u201ePoint Zero\u201c. Ein kurzer \u201ewheel-dip in the water\u201e und dann starte ich meinen Southern Tier 2025 – rund 2500 km bis Austin\/TX.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Wie erwartet wird es ein sehr harter Radtag – bei besten Wetterbedingungen verlasse ich San Diego nach Osten – mein Komoot-Track passt nicht richtig mit der offiziellen ACA-Karte zusammen und ich fahre einige Umwege.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Irgendwann beginnt die Kletterei; mit dem schweren Rad wird es bei Steigungen \u00fcber 5% sehr herausfordernd.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ein Highlight war der ca. 8 km lange und eher flache Father Junipero Serra Trail.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ich qu\u00e4le mich maximal f\u00fcr Tag 1 – bin kurz vor einem Hungerast und rolle mit dem Sonnenuntergang (17:33) vor meine Bleibe f\u00fcr diese Nacht. Um 18 Uhr ist es hier stockdunkel um diese Jahreszeit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Alpine liegt auf gut 500 Meter – der h\u00f6chste Punkt in den folgenden Tagen ist die Tecate Divide auf knapp 1300 hm – die Plackerei geht also morgen weiter.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
