Ich freue mich sehr auf die anstehende R\u00fcckkehr in ein \u201egeordnetes Leben\u201c. Es ist meine Erfahrung aus den zahlreichen langen Touren der letzten 12 Jahre, dass es mich nach ca. vier bis sechs Wochen \u201eon the road\u201c wieder ganz stark nach Hause zieht. Zu Frau, Familie, Freunden und nat\u00fcrlich auch zu unserem Hund Maya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich versuche mal ein kleines Fazit zu ziehen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MRT 2023 \/ 2150 km gefahren &#8211; entspricht ziemlich exakt der Strecke Goldbach &#8211; Sizilien<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mit dem MRT 2022 zusammen bin ich rund 3500 km am Mississippi River gefahren. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addiere ich die 4500 km aus 2018 Alaska \u2014&gt; San Francisco dazu, bin ich rund 8000 km auf dem nordamerikanischen Kontinent mit dem Rad gefahren. Das sollte genug sein. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ich werde vermutlich nicht mehr mit dem Rad nach USA zur\u00fcckkommen. But say never no \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ich hatte mehr Pannen als bei fr\u00fcheren Touren &#8211; 4 Plattf\u00fc\u00dfe &#8211; kaputter Freilauf \u2014&gt; neues Hinterrad &#8211; neuer Reifen hinten. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vielleicht kommt der \u201eBlaue Elefant\u201c so langsam in die Jahre (geboren 2012).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Viele inspirierende Begegnungen und gro\u00dfartige Hilfe und Unterst\u00fctzung bei der L\u00f6sung meiner technischen Probleme. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trotz minimaler Vorbereitung bin ich relativ schnell auf dem Rad fit geworden. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlights waren die Campingpl\u00e4tze unmittelbar am MR und die pers\u00f6nlichen Kontakte bei meinen Warmshower-Hosts. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gro\u00dfst\u00e4dte wie St. Louis \/ Memphis \/ New Orleans sind nicht die idealen Pl\u00e4tze f\u00fcr einen Tourenradler. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Die private Atmosph\u00e4re der gebuchten AirBnBs haben mir dort die Sicherheit f\u00fcr ein intensives touristisches Programm gegeben. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Es gab keine bedrohlichen Situationen, au\u00dfer zwei bis drei Hundeattacken und einigen im Verkehr gef\u00e4hrlichen Br\u00fccken\u00fcberquerungen und Highway-Passagen. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Der Umstieg am Ende auf einen Road-Trip mit dem Auto bis NOLA war eine schwierige, aber absolut richtige Entscheidung. Die extreme Hitze und die permanent schweren Gewitter sind auf dem Rad einfach zu gef\u00e4hrlich. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ich bin froh und dankbar den MRT 2023 mit unendlich vielen Eindr\u00fccken gesund bew\u00e4ltigt zu haben. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mein Ziel heute morgen war das Wahrzeichen von New Orleans, die St. Louis Cathedral.
