Gut ausgeruht starte ich in einen Tag der wieder hohe 30 Grad Temperaturen verspricht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die ersten Meilen durch Chester und \u00fcber die enge MR-Br\u00fccke ist sehr viel Verkehr. Die Br\u00fccke ist knapp einen Kilometer lang und ich setze mich einfach mittig auf meine Fahrspur. Geduldig und ohne Hupen folgen mir die Fahrzeuge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relativ flott geht es bis Perryville – leider bekomme ich unterwegs eine Absage von meiner Warmshowers-Anfrage. Beim Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck in Perryville checke ich meine Optionen und finde bei AirBnB ein ansprechendes Angebot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zehn Minuten sp\u00e4ter ist alles unter Dach und Fach. Tom Neumeyer wird mein Gastgeber in Cape Girardeau heute Abend sein. Dazwischen liegen noch rund 60km und ca. 600 H\u00f6henmeter durch das sehr wellige Farmland hier in Missouri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irgendwann bei einer Abfahrt macht mein Hinterrad merkw\u00fcrdige Ger\u00e4usche. Ich suche mir ein schattiges Pl\u00e4tzchen vor einem Haus und baue das Hinterrad aus. Anscheinend hatte ich beim Plattenflicken vorgestern, das Rad nicht sauber eingesetzt. Habe erstmal dreckige H\u00e4nde – aber das Problem ist gel\u00f6st. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es ist m\u00e4chtig hei\u00df und so bin ich ziemlich gl\u00fccklich als ca. 20 km vor dem Ziel ein sch\u00f6nes mexikanisches Restaurant auftaucht. Ein kleiner Salat und ein gro\u00dfes Bier – das amerikanische Lightbeer ist wie ein Sportgetr\u00e4nk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es stehen tolle H\u00e4user im Einzugsbereich von Cape Girardeau. Die Stadt ist bekannt f\u00fcr ihre \u201emurals\u201c entlang des MR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Cape Girardeau angekommen empf\u00e4ngt mich Tom in seinem \u00fcber 100 Jahre alten Haus. Sehr gute Entscheidung – sch\u00f6nes Zimmer – netter Host. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heute habe ich Lust auf ein gutes Steak – das muss dann auch sein. Sp\u00e4ter gehe ich mit Tom noch zu einem kleinen \u201eOpen air\u201c in der Nachbarschaft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
