Keokuk IA – Hannibal MO \u2014> 116 km Gesamt: 1057 km<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Campground Hickory Haven war sehr ruhig und gem\u00fctlich. Lediglich ein gro\u00dfer Frosch hat die ganze Nacht im nahegelegenen Teich keine Ruhe gegeben. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wieder gute 15 km nach Keokuk zur\u00fcck geradelt – bisschen Irrfahrt bis ich ein offenes Caf\u00e9 gefunden habe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Auf einer separaten Bikespur \u00fcberquere ich den MR und bin wieder in Illinois. Hinter Warsaw tauche ich in eine v\u00f6llig neue Landschaftsform auf dieser Tour ein. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Fast 60 km geht es mehr oder weniger geradeaus durch weites Farmland \u00f6stlich des MR. Sojabohnen und Mais werden hier \u00fcberwiegend angebaut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • <\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

        Der Wind schiebt mich heute nicht – kommt eher schr\u00e4g von der Seite – leicht bremsend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Irgendwo im \u201eNiemandsland\u201c mache ich die ersten 1000 Kilometer voll – seit Minneapolis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          In Quincy – nach rund 75 km bin ich ziemlich leer gefahren und brauche dringend eine Mittagspause. Cooler Laden – komplett leer – habe sch\u00f6nen Platz auf der Veranda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Die n\u00e4chsten 20 km sind miserabel zu fahren – enge Stra\u00dfe – viel Verkehr – bergauf und Gegenwind. Irgendwann \u00fcberquere ich die Br\u00fccke nach Missouri und bin in Hannibal, dem Ort wo Mark Twain seine Kindheit verbracht hat. Mein f\u00fcnfter US-Staat auf der Tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Habe mir ein Hotel gebucht – aber nicht wirklich aufgepasst – es liegt f\u00fcnf Meilen au\u00dferhalb und auf der H\u00f6he. So dass es am Ende rund 116 km werden und nochmal 150 hm extra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Die Jungs im Hotel erkl\u00e4ren mir, dass mein Fahrrad vor dem Haus abgestellt werden muss. Da bin ich nat\u00fcrlich \u201enot amused\u201c. Nach l\u00e4ngerer Diskussion nehme ich es mit in mein Zimmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            W\u00e4re gerne zum Abend nach Downtown gefahren um irgendwo am Fluss zu essen. Bekomme keinen UBER und normale Taxis existieren nicht oder gehen garnicht ans Telefon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Okay – dann Plan B – gucke ich mir das \u201ehistorische Viertel\u201c eben morgen fr\u00fch an – muss ja sowieso wieder \u00fcber die Br\u00fccke zur\u00fcck. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
