Der Tag begann relativ zeitig und gegen 7:30 Uhr sa\u00df ich auf dem Rad. Beim Morgenkaffee hatte ich noch sehr neugierigen Besuch eines Fuchses.<\/p>\n

Eher unspektakul\u00e4r zogen sich die Meilen dahin. Als Eis und Schneepyramide gr\u00fc\u00dfte mich rechter Hand der \u00fcber 4000m hohe Mount Hayes.<\/p>\n

Zum ersten Mal auf dem Trip hatte ich die ber\u00fchmte Alaska-Pipeline direkt zum Anfassen. Wenig sp\u00e4ter war ich in Delta Junction angekommen, dem tats\u00e4chlichen Ende des Alaska-Kanada-Highways mit Milepost 1422. F\u00fcr mich eher ja der Beginn.<\/p>\n

Ich habe ja nicht vor dem Highway zu folgen – zun\u00e4chst aber auf jeden Fall rund 150 Meilen bis hinter Tok, um dann zu entscheiden Dawson City ja oder nein.<\/p>\n

An einer kleinen Tankstelle ca. 20 Meilen hinter der Junction wurde ich von Michaela Webb, einer Deutschen, die schon viele Jahre hier lebt, eingeladen auf ihrem Gel\u00e4nde zu \u00fcbernachten. Ich nahm die Einladung gerne an, Abendessen und Dusche inclusive.
