Auf den ersten Wurf hat sich mir Riga nicht erschlossen. Es ist nie ganz einfach in eine neue gro\u00dfe Stadt zu kommen und gleich den Rhythmus aufzunehmen. Die hier viel deutlicher sp\u00fcrbare russische Mentalit\u00e4t, im Vergleich zu Tallinn, macht es mir nicht ganz so leicht.<\/p>\n

Heute am zweiten Tag ging das relativ gut. Ich habe in einer sehr sympathischen Atmosph\u00e4re gefr\u00fchst\u00fcckt und mir dann St\u00fcck f\u00fcr St\u00fcck die Stadt erschlossen. H\u00f6hepunkt dabei war sicherlich das Treffen mit einigen rotarischen Freunden vom Rotary Club Riga Baltic und der anschlie\u00dfende Bummel durch wundersch\u00f6ne Stra\u00dfen mit Jugendstilh\u00e4usern.<\/p>\n

Ich denke, dass ich so ziemlich alles was man in zwei Tagen sehen kann, gesehen habe. Der Vorabenddrink im 26. Stock eines gro\u00dfen Hotels hat den \u00dcberblick nat\u00fcrlich perfekt abgerundet. Zum Abendessen habe ich mir das lettische Nationalgericht „Pelmeni“ geg\u00f6nnt und hintendrauf noch einen echt kr\u00e4ftigen „Schwarzen Balsam“, das ist so eine Art „Rigaer Sechs\u00e4mtertropfen“. Insoweit ist alles wirklich gut, morgen geht es weiter, allerdings macht das Wetter einige Kapriolen, so dass wohl mit der Regenkluft gefahren werden muss.<\/p>\n
